Staff And Elders
Our staff and elders play an important role in helping the church operate. Many people take part in events throughout the year, and we couldn't do it without the help of some amazing people that lead the way. Our leaders pour their hearts into doing God's work. They all do things you would never expect just so they can meet the needs of the church and community. We want to say thank you to our staff and elders, and everyone who served before them at EDCC!
Kyle Gulley
Lead Pastor Kyle started at EDCC as the youth minister 20 years ago. After also serving several years as Outreach Pastor, Kyle accepted the position as Lead Pastor at EDCC in 2018. Kyle’s ministry is devoted to helping people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. His passions are building relationships, mentoring people, and helping people grow spiritually. Kyle is married to his wife of 27 years, Heidi, and they have three beautiful children and a devoted canine companion, named Daisy. Kyle is also a Chicago Cubs fan and a Pittsburgh Steelers Fan.
Mark Chambers
Elder Mark has been attending EDCC since he was a young child and has been an elder since his 20’s. Mark’s responsibilities as Elder include oversight of our church’s finances, ministering to our congregation, and any other task we can throw his way. Mark is a serious Cincinnati Reds fan as well as a Bengals fan. He is married to his wife of many years, Wanda, and they have 3 children and 2 grandchildren with one more on the way!
Dan Miller
Elder Dan has been a long-time member and elder at EDCC. His responsibilities include organizing our building maintenance, cooking an excellent congregational Thanksgiving dinner, and generally ministering to our EDCC families and new members. Dan and his wife Robin, love to travel and always seem to be planning that next cruise. They have a blended family of 5 adult children and 3 grandchildren.
Rex and Brittany Carpenter
Youth Ministry Leaders Brittany grew up attending EDCC and has followed in the footsteps of her family by joining the staff in 2015. Brittany attended college in Tennessee where she met her husband, Rex and they married in 2017. Rex and Brittany are active foster parents and in 2021 they welcomed their 1st daughter. Baby #2 is on the way for Rex and Brittany in the fall of 2023. Outside of EDCC, Rex is a strength coach for Kettering Health Network and Brittany is the Expansion Coordinator for Isaiah 117 House in Montgomery County. Rex and Brittany are both avid sports fans and share a love of Jesus and the youth in our community.
Jenny Flohre
Ministry Assistant Jenny has been a member of our EDCC family since 2009. She was born and raised in East Dayton, so it was no surprise when she took the position as Ministry Assistant in 2018. Jenny regularly participates in several programs here but will always have a special love for Children/Youth ministry. Outside of EDCC, Jenny has been married to her husband Aaron for 16 years and is Puppymom to their 2 spoiled dogs. Jenny loves ALL things Disney and is always happy to have a conversation where she can impart her infinite Disney knowledge.
Volunteer leaders
Karen Geiger
Worship Leader, Small Group Leader Karen and her family have been part of the EDCC family since 1992. She has a passion for worship and women's ministries. Karen is a talented musician in her own right playing several different instruments. She prayerfully and deliberately chooses music for our worship services that will enhance the message and shine all the light on God. Karen also leads our Women's Ministry Bible Group. This group of ladies meets once a week to do a deep dive in to the bible and it's themes as it pertains to a Christian Woman's life.
Jeff Geiger
Tech Specialist, Small Group Leader Jeff and Karen have been attending EDCC since 1992. Jeff has been active in many ministries over the years including worship team. He seems to have found his calling in the technical booth as a jack of all trades keeping our worship equipment ready to go and assisting with technical services on Sunday mornings. In addition, Jeff and Karen occassionally lead our special all church or couples bible studies.
Children Ministry Team
Wanda Chambers, Heidi Gulley, Angela Karka, Kay Lynch
Children's Ministry Our childrens team is a hardworking, passionate group of volunteers that plan, create, coordinate all things Children's Ministry in our church. Wanda has been a been a member of EDCC since she was a baby and her love for this church and church family has done nothing but grow. She has taught Sunday School, been a youth sponsor, a team leader for Vacation Bible School and so much more! Heidi has been with EDCC since 2002, when she located here from Indiana with Pastor Kyle and their first child. Heidi has a gift for teaching that given her opportunities to not only home school her kids, but also to tutor other children. She has been a staple in Children's programs since joining EDCC and always has ideas flowing for how we can better support our kids. Kay's family have been long time visitors of EDCC since her daughters were young and she brought them to VBS. They joined us full time in 2016 and Kay jumped in to serving around our church and hasn't looked back. She is very active in Children's ministry, including our nursery area where Miss Kay is loved by all the little ones. She is also a hardworking volunteer at The Hearth Community Pantry feeding our community not only food, but encouragement.
Tommy Robinson
Project/Facilities Administrator​ Tommy has been going to East Dayton since 2021, and his father and grandparents also were very involved at EDCC throughout the years.  Tommy coordinates things from cleaning out closets to remodeling classrooms. He enjoys hands on projects and organization and has been excited to integrate this into his volunteer work at the church.
